"It turns out this is just viral marketing for a big Hollywood monster movie. Its Blair Witch Project meets Godzilla meets War of the Worlds. But Shittier.
I hope you like shaky cameras and bad lighting. Do NOT watch this movie if you have epilepsy. Or good taste in movies. Its rated PG-13 so you know its gonna be pretty gay. At least when you download it from the Pirate Bay on the opening weekend, you wont be able to tell the difference in the video quality."

What's up with the stupid t-shirts?
AHAHAHA THIS IS SO FUNNY
If you say fuck and shit some more, it makes you right!
Lucas Haas was right, though.
i think j.j. abrams is single-handedly turning me into an anti-semite.
I hope these shitty digicam "characters" capture the J.J Abrams flavor by zooming in too close to the actor's faces while they have "dramatic" minute long pauses, and then dub in some dissonant violins to substitute for actual storytelling.
Your shirts are still embarrassing. Please try again.
Also cocks.
Congratulations. You're either a rather saavy metatextual portion of that same marketing campaign designed to make us think that you're a critic, or you're an actual critic who has unwittingly made himself look like a metatextual portion of the marketing campaign.
Either way, they win.
@ alcy
that's an interesting theory of reabsorbtion / recuperation, but if all resistance is nullified, then what can one do to critique something?
the only other thing that i can think of would be something like what Tim and Eric did for Shrek the Third -- releasing a bunch of unsponsored ads for it that were so over the top in their praise that they were clearly being sarcastic, saying things like "the film, i'm not even going to call it a movie..."
any other ideas on cultural appropriation theory or control and resistance in marketing? or just random bashing of j.j. abrams, i'm okay with that too.
Have you figured out the truth and if Ethan Haas really is a douchebag?
Let us know....
http://ethanhaasthoughts.blogspot.com/
We will find the truth!
Ethan Haas has AIDS
actually, principle photography has barely started on this movie, so... we don't actually know WHAT kind of camera-work will be used.....
yes i think something is fishy with this site
^ Milking an epic marketing campaign in an attempt to be an internet hero. Lawlz @ attention whores.
i think this movie is gonna be great,
jj abrams created lost so he is god
Your outlook on life is teh suck
You take movies wayyy too seriously.
And marketing even more so.
and as of yet there is no official connection between Ethan Haas ARG and the new JJ Abrams project.

I like how everyone cares so fucking much.
Movie about satan? Movie about Aliens? Movie about a Giant Invisible Monster? Who knows, It would be great if it ended up being a Heart-felt Romantic Comedy, and they just fooled us all. With a giant monster in it of corse.
lmao idiot. No one knows anything about how "shaky" the cameras will be, and DEFINITELY no one knows what the rating will be. Movie has to be finished before the MPAA can give a rating.
..douchebag
I love that people care so much about HATING the notion of the Ethan Haas viral marketing campaign thing to go to the trouble of making a website about it! This gives me hours of unending pleasure. Especially some of the idiots who almost sound like they're buying into the whole Prophet thing if only to debunk it (therefore lending it more credibility!). Idiots.
Let me tell you what I think.
I think it's all just bollocks, a bit of a laugh and a few harmless puzzles with a few "Lost Experience" stylee wobbly-cam, over-edited videos to get people interested in a movie which won't be coming out for nearly a year and which (so Wikipedia tells me) JJ Abrams IS producing (not writing or directing however).
I think having a viral marketing campaign of this nature is a very clever way of making people (geeks, not to put too fine a point on it) excited about a movie which would otherwise probably slip under the collective-movie-goer-radar and loose the production company and the funders and distributors loads of money.
Because, at the end of the day, that's what it's all about: CASH.
However, that being said, if they want to give me something to do in a boring half-hour, something interesting and fun (and free of charge!); I'll welcome the chance!
That's it from me...
Ethan Haas REALLY is a douchebag! He banged my sister and gave her the crabs.
SERIOUSLY, with all the talk of Gods and look to the skies on the Cloverfield webpage "broadcasts", I believe (and this is just personal speculation) that this is the remake of COTT...that's right, I said it... "CLASH OF THE TITANS." Keep in mind that this is just speculation however, since the book and the original movie was set in ancient times.
all HAIL KUTULU...........check out this link to a Kutulu and tell me that this isn't the same damn text used in the puzzles. http://www.kutulukultus.com/page-2.html
But where this gets even better is that Paramount owns the rights to Godzilla as well ....as well as being Bad Robots parent company....and i found this old movie poster on a Godzilla fan site......read the caption underneath the picture of GODZILLA VS> THE THING
http://www.dimfuture.net/wordpress/2007/06/29/mosura-tai-gojiramothra-vs-godzilla-1964-part-4-american-version-and-dvd/
And strangely enough that last page is also on Blogspot
I think someone needs to get out the house. What do you care about what JJ Abrams does? If you don't like it, don't get involved.
Unless, of course, you are a clever part of the ARG and are the opposition to Ethan Haas.
Nice t-shirts dumbass... you go around saying this movie is a rip-off and you just ripped off all the clip art available in the internet to make those crappy ass shirts. You're a fucking hypocrite.
